Tin Wha CPAs, founded under the approval of the Ministry of Finance and the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CICPA) in March 1998, is a large partnership accounting firm providing a full range of accounting, auditing, taxation and management advisory services for the society. In December 2003, Tin Wha jointed Baker Tilly International, the 10th largest accounting network in the world, and becomes its sole independent member network in China.
Headquartered in Beijing, Tin Wha has branches in Shanghai and Nanjing, and operates a network of 13 member firms located in Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Changsha, Qingdao, Shijiazhuang, Tangshan, Kunming, Shenyang, Taiyuan, Xuzhou, Chengdu, Yinchuan, Tianjin. As at the end of 2003, Tin Wha has a total staff employment of 1,200, including 580 CPAs, 191 CPVs, 128 licensed tax agents and 135 licensed construction engineers, with annual turnover of RMB166 million.
Tin Wha possesses a full range of licenses and certificates issued by the Chinese authorities necessary for providing professional services in China. These include the licenses of auditing and asset Evaluation in securities and futures business issued by the Ministry of Finance and Securities Regulatory Commission, an grade “A” auditing certificate for financial institutions authorized by the Ministry of Finance and The People’s Bank of China, an auditing certificate for the extra large state-owned enterprises by the CICPA, a grade “A” certificate of construction cost consulting issued by the Ministry of Construction, and a license of tax agency issued by the State Administration of Taxation.
Most Tin Wha’s senior partners are postgraduates in the early 1980s and had worked many years as the public servants in the Chinese governments and as the professionals at the “Big-four” accounting firms.
